Overhaul-Restore | Repairs | Parts

Collectible Time is a full-service shop that provides quality restoration, expert repair and sales of Atmos clocks and vintage wristwatches.  We have a deep respect and appreciation for the past and take our work very seriously. We understand that your clock or watch has value – sentimental and otherwise – that can’t be replaced. When you send your timepiece to us, you can rest assured we’ll do everything in our power to get your item running as good as new.

The factory recommends that an Atmos clock, after approximately 20 years, needs a cleaning/servicing depending on the environment that it is standing. Collectible Time specializes in performing complete servicing on any Atmos product, no matter what condition, including the replacement of broken parts, if available, and complete re-plating/refinishing of cases and dials.

Vintage watch services can be as basic as replacement of a damaged crystal or band to comprehensive services such as cleaning & timing of the watch mechanism, refinishing the dial and polishing the case.

OVERHAUL-RESTORE

Trust our reputation and experience to get your heirloom back-in-time.

Complete Overhaul: Factory recommended every 20 years:  If your Atmos clock is not running properly and is at least 20-25 years old, or has been in storage for a long period of time, then your clock will require a basic overhaul.

This consists of complete disassembly and ultrasonic cleaning of the movement, all necessary repair, and adjustments, plus recalibration (timing) of the movement. All glass panels are removed and cleaned while the clock is repaired. Parts and/or gears that are broken beyond repair, and are available, are also replaced at the time of the overhaul. The average repair time on most Atmos Clocks is approximately 4-8 weeks, which includes the time required for speed and other adjustments. We also offer complete case restoration either in 24k gold plate or Rhodium plate. This includes complete disassembly of the entire case where it is sent to a professional for expert plating. This work requires extra time and could add an additional 4 weeks to the complete repair timeframe. Repair work is warranted by us for five years.

Your timepiece has sentimental value – We’ll get it running as good as new.

Estimates: We will not begin repairs to your timepiece until authorization is received. Should you have any questions or concerns, we will supply you with a list of customer references upon your request.  If you send us your timepiece for a repair estimate and choose to not have it repaired, there is no estimate charge, aside from the cost of return shipping and insurance.

Payments: When shipping your timepiece to us for repair please do not send payment in advance.  Collectible Time will provide to you a complete estimate of repair and parts, if needed, when we receive your clock. Once written or verbal authorization is received and after your clock is repaired, we will request payment before returning the unit to you.

Working together as one to keep your clocks and watches ticking.

There are (3) main parts of an Atmos Clock that often need replacement after several decades of continuous operation or sitting dormant.

1. Bellows Unit

The gas filled chamber located in the rear drum that powers the clock. The bellows unit on an Atmos Clock can last from 30-40 years, however the actual life span of this unit will vary, depending on the environment of the clock. Since the bellow is constantly expanding and contracting even when the clock is not in use, over time this process may cause wear to the metal and it will need to be replaced. If your Atmos Clock is at least 30 years old and still has the original bellow, and it shows signs of leakage after testing, we may recommend that the bellow be repaired at the same time as the overhaul.

2. Suspension Spring

The stainless steel wire that suspends the pendulum and regulates the movement.  The suspension spring may actually never need replacing unless the clock was mishandled, such as moving the clock without first locking the pendulum in place, improper handling or storage, etc.  In rare cases, the suspension spring may lose tension over time and may need replacement.

3. Replacement Glass Doors & Panels:

We sell replacement removable front glass doors and some original fixed panels for 528 & 540 models. Our glass panels are exactly the same size and thickness as used by the manufacturer and will fit your Atmos Clock perfectly.  While the gold thumb tab is reusable, it may be missing, we can also provide this part if available.
